Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins, the fourth overall pick in this year's draft, left Saturday's game against the Steelers in Pittsburgh after sustaining a rib contusion.

He will undergo further tests Sunday.

"I think Sammy will be fine," Bills quarterback EJ Manuel said after Buffalo's 19-16 loss. "He got hurt early in the game, it affects the offense because he's a lethal guy. Hopefully he'll come back and bounce back from whatever little injury he had. Hopefully he's fine."

Watkins was hurt when he was hit by Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier and cornerback Cortez Allen while attempting to make a first-quarter catch. He was ruled out for the remainder of the game, the Bills announced.

After failing to record a catch in the Hall of Fame game against the New York Giants, Watkins made three receptions for 21 yards last week against the Carolina Panthers. He exited Saturday's game without a catch.

Watkins was the Orange Bowl MVP in January while completing his college career at Clemson. He set school career records with 240 receptions and 3,391 receiving yards.
