In the wake of Monterey County health authorities confirming that a skunk killed by a dog in Marina tested positive for rabies, authorities are reminding pet owners to keep up to date on vaccinations.
The SPCA for Monterey County provides low-cost vaccinations, including rabies vaccinations, throughout the year. Rabies vaccinations for dogs or cats are $20 each, and staff is available to perform vaccination services Monday through Saturday, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. or between 1 and 3 p.m.
For more information about affordable vaccinations, microchips or other services, contact the SPCA at 264-5400 or visit the website. Appointments are not required, there are no additional office fees, and wait times are minimal.
The low-cost SPCA Veterinary Clinic is located at 1002 Monterey-Salinas Highway, across from Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
