Lawsuit Against Boy Scouts of America Involves Salinas Man

A trial is set to begin in October against the Boy Scouts of America after a Salinas man was accused of sexually assaulting a Scout back in 2007
Attorney Tim Hale is representing a young man who claims he was molested by his troop leader, Al Stein. He says the molestation happened at a Goleta Christmas tree lot in 2007.
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages and contends the Boy Scouts Of America knew or should have known that Stein had put the boy at risk. Hale tried to include the local troop leader and council in the lawsuit, but a judge ruled against that earlier this month.
Troop leader and volunteer Al Stein is already out of prison after pleading no contest. Stein is a registered sex offender living here in Salinas.
