Alisal High Boys varsity soccer put the grueling preseason behind them with a 6-0 blowout win against North Monterey County.
The victory begins a new chapter for the Trojans as they put their league-winning streak, at 30, on the line Thursday against Pajaro Valley.
Up until this past weekend, Alisal had a winning streak of 59 games dating back to February 2010. All of those wins were a combination of preseason and regular season games. But a loss to Loyola in the semifinals of the Bellarmine Invitational in San Jose, put that streak to bed. They ended up losing the third-place game as well.
Danny Pulido, Alisal's top defender and last year's co-MVP, is expected to be back on the field next week after suffering a seizure on the field in the loss to Loyola, coach Mark Cisneros said.
