Jacqueline Tualla

Jacqueline Tualla joined the NewsChannel 5 team in May 2011.

Before landing in Salinas, she began her career as a reporter for KCOY-TV in Santa Maria, Calif. She also filled in on the anchor desk.

Jacqueline was born in San Francisco, Calif. She grew up in Hayward, Calif., where her family moved when she was a young girl. She is of African-American and Filipino descent.

She received a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and minor in Spanish from California State University, Sacramento. While in college, she interned at KCRA-TV where she had her first several live appearances covering the Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes at the State Capitol. She was also the Print Managing Editor for The State Hornet, the university's student-run newspaper.

She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and the Asian American Journalists Association.

Jacqueline enjoys her job because she loves meeting new people and telling stories that impact the local community. When she's not anchoring or reporting, Jacqueline enjoys shopping, hiking, swimming, singing, dancing, reading the Bible, and spending time with her family and friends.
